Please enter valid positive numbers for clicks and CPC.

Note: Daily budget is calculated by dividing the monthly spend by 30.4 (average days per month). Actual daily spend may vary.

How this is calculated
  • Clicks & Avg. CPC — monthly spend = target clicks × average CPC.
  • Conversions & Avg. CPA — monthly spend = target conversions × average cost per acquisition.
  • Conversions, Conv. Rate & Avg. CPC — clicks needed = target conversions ÷ conversion rate, then monthly spend = clicks × average CPC.
  • Daily budget = monthly spend ÷ 30.4, which is 365 ÷ 12. Google treats a daily budget as an average to spend around rather than a hard cap, so it can spend more on a given day and less on another.
  • Every figure is an estimate from the numbers you enter. Auction prices move, so a CPC taken from last quarter is a forecast, not a quote.
Step by step

How to use this calculator.

There are three ways to reach the same answer here, and you can use whichever pair of numbers you already have. You can work from clicks and cost per click, from conversions and cost per acquisition, or from conversions, conversion rate and cost per click. The calculator returns both the monthly spend you need and the daily budget to enter in the account, which is the figure Google Ads actually asks you for.

Read the number

What your result means.

The daily figure is your monthly budget divided across roughly thirty days. Google may spend up to twice that on any single day when demand is high, then balance it out across the month, so daily variation is normal.

Treat the result as a planning estimate rather than a fixed cost. Actual spend moves with competition, keyword choice, quality score, and seasonality, so review it once your own campaign data starts building.

What drives the cost

Google Ads Cost Factors

Four things decide what you pay per click. Competition in your keyword set, your quality score, your bidding strategy, and the network you advertise on. Search costs more than Display, and high-intent commercial keywords cost more than informational ones.

This is why two businesses in the same industry can see very different costs. Use benchmarks to plan, then replace them with your own numbers as soon as you have them.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no minimum, but very small budgets rarely gather enough data to optimize. Work backwards from the conversions you need and your expected cost per acquisition rather than picking a round number.

It varies enormously by industry. Legal, insurance, and finance keywords cost many times more than retail or hospitality, so compare against your own margin rather than a general average.

Google rates your keyword, ad, and landing page relevance. A higher score lowers what you pay per click and improves your position, so relevance directly reduces your costs.

Search campaigns can generate clicks immediately, but meaningful optimization needs several weeks of conversion data. Judging performance within days usually leads to changes that undo progress.

Your monthly budget is divided by roughly thirty days. Google may spend more on some days and less on others, but it will not exceed your monthly amount overall.

Usually increased competition on your keywords, a falling quality score, or seasonal demand. Broad match terms also drift toward more expensive searches over time if left unmanaged.

Search captures people actively looking for what you sell. Performance Max spreads across Google's full inventory. Most businesses start with Search, where intent is highest and control is greatest.

Without it, Google's automated bidding optimizes toward the wrong signal. Accurate tracking is what allows the platform to find people who buy rather than people who merely click.

Where this fits

Budget planning sits at the start of the Traffic Layer in your growth engine. Growthmak manages Google Ads across that layer, so once the budget is set, campaign structure, keyword strategy, and landing pages decide what it actually returns.
